How to Help: The First Serve Scholarship Program
Midland Tennis Center Inc. exists to provide everyone the opportunity to experience the game of tennis regardless of physical, financial or geographical barriers.
The First Serve Scholarship Program is a way for Bush Tennis Center to serve thousands and thousands of participants that might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the game of tennis.
In 1996, Jim Henry, who was serving as Board President for Casa De Amigos, Lael Cordes-Pitts (Executive Director for Casa de Amigos) and Luis Valdez, a local tennis pro, formed The Reachout Tennis program under Casa de Amigos. During that time over 12,000 participants have experienced the game of tennis through tennis carnivals, school assemblies and tennis block parties and this was all done without having a tennis center. Our objective is to continue developing outreach programs through Casa de Amigos, Greater Ideal, Hillcrest, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Camp Fire, Sherwood Baptist and many other Community Based Organizations.
Bush Tennis Center has taken THE FIRST SERVE to provide this program and now we are asking you to take THE FIRST SERVE on contributing to the FIRST SERVE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. Your contribution will assist us in providing programs, racquets, shoes and scholarships to thousands and thousands of students throughout the upcoming years that otherwise might not have the opportunity.
